We are South East High School, a dynamic and diverse learning community dedicated to academic excellence, innovation, and student success. Our school is composed of five small schools, each designed to provide specialized educational experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and beyond.

Our Small Schools

1. School of Business, Innovation, and Leadership (BIL)

   This small school offers a program dedicated to teaching and developing the fundamental skills necessary for students to be prepared for a successful career in business. Students learn about entrepreneurship, information technology, marketing, sales, investment banking, and management. Additionally, students will develop essential life skills that all consumers need. This program fosters both academic success and innovative thinking through a well-rounded, business-focused education.

2. School of Health, Science, and Environment (HSE)
   Focused on real-world applications, this school emphasizes personal and public health, environmental awareness, and leadership in health-related fields. Students engage in rigorous coursework and problem-solving experiences to prepare for careers in medicine, healthcare, and environmental sciences.

3. School of Justice, Law, and Service (JLAW)
   This academic and career preparation program is tailored for students interested in law, public service, law enforcement, and safety professions. The curriculum equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for college and career success while fostering leadership and civic responsibility.

4. School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)
   This school provides a rigorous, interdisciplinary arts education that integrates performing arts, visual arts, and academic subjects. Students explore music, ceramics, drawing, painting, and stage design while developing innovative thinking and career pathways in the arts.

5. STEAM Magnet (STEAM)
   Our STEAM Magnet Program integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to foster problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation. Students engage in hands-on, project-based learning that prepares them for careers in STEM fields and beyond. The program promotes collaboration, creativity, and exploration, empowering students to become future leaders in science and technology.

We Are Also a School for Advanced Studies (SAS)

South East High School is proud to be a School for Advanced Studies (SAS), offering an accelerated and enriched curriculum for our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students. Through a rigorous selection of Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses, we provide students with opportunities to engage in college-level coursework, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare for higher education. Our SAS program supports academically motivated students in reaching their full potential in an innovative and challenging learning environment.
