John “Edward” Estoesta – Assistant Principal, South East High School
John “Edward” Estoesta is dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to an empowering education that prepares them for college, career, and life. As an Assistant Principal at South East High School, he is committed to celebrating and serving the wonderful community of South East.
Edward earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Science from Loyola Marymount University, and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from CSU Dominguez Hills. For almost 20 years, he has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. His work focuses on advancing culturally responsive practices, promoting social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and collaborating with the Jaguar community to ensure that all students have access to an excellent education.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Urban Leadership at Claremont Graduate University, and is exploring the impact of indigenous methodologies to culturally responsive learning. Beyond his work, he enjoys discovering new food destinations, cycling to great coffee spots, and spending time with family and friends.

Durante casi 20 años, ha trabajado como maestro, entrenador instruccional y administrador. Su labor se centra en promover prácticas culturalmente responsivas, fomentar el aprendizaje socioemocional, implementar prácticas restaurativas y colaborar con la comunidad Jaguar para garantizar que todos los estudiantes tengan acceso a una educación de excelencia.
Actualmente, está cursando un doctorado en Liderazgo Urbano en Claremont Graduate University, donde investiga el impacto de las metodologías indígenas en el aprendizaje culturalmente responsivo. Más allá de su trabajo, disfruta descubrir nuevos destinos gastronómicos, andar en bicicleta hacia excelentes cafeterías y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos.
