About South East

South East High School is a diverse and dynamic learning community committed to academic excellence, innovation, and student success. Our school is composed of five small schools—Business, Innovation, and Leadership (BIL); Health, Science, and Environment (HSE); Justice, Law, and Service (JLAW); Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA); and our STEAM Magnet (STEAM)—each designed to provide specialized educational experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and beyond. Through rigorous, interdisciplinary programs, we foster critical thinking, creativity, and leadership while equipping students with real-world skills in fields ranging from business and law to STEM and the arts.

Additionally, South East High School is a School for Advanced Studies (SAS), offering an enriched curriculum for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students through Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses. Our SAS program challenges students with college-level coursework, preparing them for higher education and future career success. We take pride in cultivating a supportive, innovative learning environment that empowers students to become self-motivated, responsible, and future-ready global citizens.

Principal's Message

Dear South East High School Community,

It is both a privilege and an honor to serve as the principal of South East High School. This year marks my 27th year in education, and I am humbled by the opportunity to continue working alongside our incredible students, staff, and families.

I have had the privilege of serving in many capacities throughout my career and I carry the lessons learned from every role into my work today. The past few years, in particular, have been transformative for all of us. From navigating the transition to virtual learning during the pandemic to embracing hybrid models and adjusting to alternate bell schedules, our community has shown resilience and determination. Now, as we return to a more traditional 6-period schedule, I am filled with pride for the adaptability and perseverance demonstrated by our students and staff.

I am committed to fostering an environment where every student at South East High School is empowered to reach their fullest potential. I believe that when home and school work together, we build trust, confidence, and self-esteem in our students, preparing them not only for academic success but for success in life.

Looking ahead, I am excited for the opportunities this school year holds. Together, we will continue to focus on the growth and success of our students, ensuring that they are well-prepared for their futures.
